Training for the next 5k race

It has been a busy summer without enough time to run.  Ideally for a 5k I like to do 3 running trainings per week. Mondays would be interval training on the treadmill.  On Wednesdays,  I like a  long and easy run over 45 minutes, and  Fridays usually include a 20 minute tempo run . I have been able to do some mountain biking and tennis which is cross training. Canal diggers in Worcester ma is a great 5k race with a lot of people, semi flat course and even  great beer and  good food at the end.
5ks are normally fast races, so it is very important to do some strength training for the whole body, but especially the legs. Lighter weights combined with body weights and plyometrics help a lot too.
